Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of The Bridge and allow us to continue to provide exceptional services to our Guests each day.

Thanks to the 24/hour nature of our work, The Bridge has a wide range of individual volunteer opportunities* including daytime, evening, and weekends.

*All volunteers must be 18 years of age to enter our campus.

Interested in having your group come volunteer at The Bridge?

Contact our community engagement manager, Katerah Jefferson for more informations, and how-to get started.

Individual & Group Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for new individual and group volunteers to join us at The Bridge. There are some great ways to give back and help our Guests.

Reminder, you must be 18+ to volunteer on our campus. However, there are many ways to give back to our Guests without stepping foot onto our campus including building Welcome Baskets or hosting a donation drive. Send an email to volunteer@bridgehrc.org to find out more.

Library

Supervise the library and check out library books & games, as well as monitor computer usage and keep the library organized.

Reception Desk

Answer phone calls and properly direct inquiries, engage with Guests, answer questions, and hand out supplies including hygiene kits and laundry detergent.

Karaoke Or Bingo Night

Join our Karaoke and BINGO volunteers and host Karaoke or BINGO for our Guests.

Art Class

Assist with set-up and clean-up of the room and art supplies before and after class. Serve coffee and snacks. Help Guests with art projects as needed, and encourage Guests and foster positive relationships.

Kennel ›

Help monitor the dog’s water supply, keep the kennel clean, take the dogs to play in our on-site dog park, pick up dog waste, and provide companionship for the pups while their owners work on their homeless recovery.

Campus Organization

Help keep The Bridge’s campus running smoothly by sorting and organizing donations, cleaning up around campus, and making sure supplies are readily accessible to meet the needs of our Guests.

Treat Social

Host a treat social for our Guests at The Bridge! Bring coffee, cookies, popcorn, or other treats to distribute to our Guests and brighten their day.

Game Day

Host a game day at The Bridge with your group and spend time playing games and encouraging our Guests.

Welcome Baskets & Kits ›

Collect the items necessary to build Welcome to The Bridge Kits and Welcome Home Baskets for our Guests moving into a home of their own.

Have an idea that you don’t see listed above? Send an email to volunteer@bridgehrc.org and we will be happy to talk through an idea with you to see if it is a good fit.
