Dr. David Woody, III, Ph.D., LCSW-S, is President and CEO of The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center in downtown Dallas, where he is responsible for the provision of day and night shelter to 800 City of Dallas homeless Guests daily, with the help of 100 employees on campus. It is with his extensive research, deep engagement and past work experience with diverse client populations throughout his career that Dr. Woody has established a history of commitment to advocating for those living in poverty. This is a testament to his vision of empowering each Guest of The Bridge and of growing the organization’s capacity to reduce homelessness. Dr. Woody earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Dartmouth College, an M.S.W. degree from New York University School of Social Work, and a Ph.D. in Social Work and Social Policy from Virginia Commonwealth University.

To be eligible for services at The Bridge, an individual must be homeless, 18 years of age or older.

Government IDs, background checks, and sobriety checks are not required to engage services at The Bridge. Identification is not a requirement to go through an Intake/Triage Assessment and receive services at The Bridge.
